Fabricia in Wonder-Disco

Overview

Fabricia in Wonder-Disco is a puzzle sim game in which the player must choose quick who can enter the Wonder-Disco based on the bans the Queen of Hearts orders as the night goes on. It was a game made for the 2024 Global Game Jam in which we are still working to polish before publishing on itch.io. The theme was "Make Me Laugh" and we choose some diversifiers like "Lunch Special", "Woodstock vibes" and "All For One".

My main task for the project was programming, focusing on the gameplay systems and mechanics. I also had the chance to make some meaningful design choices and contributions.

Some of my responsabilities:

• Programming most of the game systems (player's input, time events, npc randomized generation).
• Designed the npc nightclub queue generation system.
• Designed menu and scenes flow.
• Designed and implemented feedback clues for the player (red lights turn to green when input is enabled).
• Adjusted UI redistribution of some elements that needed more visibility.

Game Synopsis

Fabricia in Wonderdisco is a hectic puzzle sim game where you play as a reinterpretation of Alice in Wonderland. Your work is, as the bouncer of a nightclub, to comply with the orders of the Queen of Hearths and control who can and cannot enter based on her orders. If you are not fast enough people will leave and if you don´t follow the Queen´s rules you will be fired!

Follow the strict entrance policy of the queen

Fabricia works from 00:00 am to 06:00 am, she must ensure that only those characters not banned by the queen enter.

The capacity of the nightclub may be filled if you take too much time deciding, so the player must be quick. If the bar is filled by inaction or allowing banned visitors to enter, you'll be fired!

Pay attention to the clock

Every hour, the capacity will be filled faster, but also the queen will forbid something or someone (like elephants or whoever who wears sunglasses).
